Muse connector
Deterministic, non-generative film finishing for still photos. Muse hands imagegrain a photo and grain settings; a film look comes back. Composition is preserved.
Connection
Endpoint: https://imagegrain.com/mcp
Transport: Streamable HTTP JSON-RPC
Tool: add_grain
Auth: none by default. If an operator sets IMAGEGRAIN_MCP_API_KEY, send Authorization: Bearer.
Agent brief: imagegrain.com/connectors/muse.md
Example prompts
- Add medium film grain at intensity 40 to this photo.
- Give this portrait subtle fine grain and a light fade, without changing the composition.
- Make this photo black and white with coarse grain and a soft vignette.
- Apply a warm, faded film look to this image.
What it does not do
It does not generate a new photograph, fetch remote image URLs, or keep the file after the request. The browser editor at imagegrain.com still processes locally. This hosted endpoint exists so a cloud agent such as Muse can call the same engine.
Limits
Inputs are capped at 8 MB decoded and 20 million pixels. EXIF is dropped on re-encode. Rate limits apply per client address. See the Privacy Policy and Terms.
